What is a Data Logger?

A data logger is an electronic device with an on-board sensor that monitors and records the conditions of an environment or event. The data logger collects the data and stores it for you to analyse and document.  This is either done by storing data on the device itself which is then transferred to a computer via USB or by sending that data automatically to a Cloud or server via WiFi. Other methods of transferring data are available such as Bluetooth or SMS both of which involve an internet enabled smart phone or tablet.
